For the Inga and the Kamëntsa indigenous communities in the Valle de Sibundoy, located in Putumayo, Colombia, Mother Earth is crucial since she is the giver of life and food. They use the land to the maximum expression for their collective work, and from there, they generate their traditions, including their material sustenance.

The importance of the land for them is essential because it helps maintain their customs and has given them a way of sustainability. Without their agriculture, they would be in danger. Their works are collective. Two different indigenous groups come together with the same purpose. They all work on everyones lands, taking turns until everyone is benefited by the help of the entire group, and through this practice they create a collective union of support and productivity at the same time.

Through IRACA®, a comprehensive intervention is carried out, with a different approach with food security projects and the promotion of productive practices allowing communities to be empowered in their development. The population served are Indigenous and Afro-Colombian ethnic households or communities.

The Colombian Government has designed, developed, and executed hundreds of projects to complement and strengthen the processes carried out by the communities through social programs of health, education, housing, basic sanitation, and food security. As well as producing projects for the generation income, environmental quality, industrial safety and institutional strengthening of public, private, and grassroots organizations.

The rigorousness of the intervention, the permanent accompaniment, the respectful relationship with the community, and the building of alliances, allowed Social Prosperity and FUPAD to manage and consolidate successful results for over ten years of intervention.
